Winter is definitely on its way. I've got a sore throat and my muscles ache from walking on slippery streets. I hope I won't feel any worse, but just in case I'll make this post about my PIF-books before I need some serious bed rest. Even though you haven't seen much books around here lately, I haven't had a lazy time. I'll blog about my custom orders as soon as they're finished and I've gotten permission from buyers.
Things are going rather well at the moment. I just added more books and brooches to Etsy.
I decided to make a more artsy book for Rhonda, as she knows how to make a durable book herself. This is definitely not durable: the covers are laminated tissue paper. There are about 20 layers glued together with wheat paste. The crows are stenciled to layer number three. Spine is reindeer vellum. In all three books, pages are gray, recycled paper. Size approx. 5.5"x5.5" (14x14cm).
To inspire Shirley to try some more basic bookbinding I made her a case bound book with fancy end papers. Book is covered with dark brown linen.
For Kirsty I made a coptic bound book. This book may get to travel far! The covers are light brown linen with a dark brown tree stenciled on the front cover.
Have a nice weekend!
