I'm taking care of family things at the moment. According to the Finnish proverb shoe-maker's children have no shoes. I've been using spiral-bound sketchbooks for quite some time now, and I thought it's about time for me to take a little time to make myself a notebook. While the notebook ideas churned in my head, I made a new journal for my DH whose journal got full last week. It's a simple case bound book, approx. 15,5x16,8cm, with 192 off-white pages. I decided to add a little color and made the headbands from red linen.
I'll try to finish my tiny book tomorrow before going to work. I'm not sure if I like working in the evening shifts or not, but I'm happy that I don't have to work until 8pm every day. All the creepy customers come in right before closing time, it's like they're outside waiting for our closing announcement and then rush in with huge piles of liquor soaked books. (Alright, that happened only once, the other time it was something oily.) I'm starting to be in need of a little vacation, but that's not going to happen. But I'm going on a little trip to Tampere later this week! This is probably the first time after childhood I'm anxiously waiting for juhannus. (That wikipedia article may not give the right picture of my way of celebrating, the only thing in my life that's liquor soaked is those library books!)
