Stars

When you're supposed to be doing something specific, you end up doing something else. That's how these Christmas ornaments (or whatever occasion or non-occasion ornaments, I don't mind) came into being. I've been thinking about making paper ornaments for my shop for several years now but steered away from them because it's all been done a thousand times. But so is everything else! It's a bad excuse. So this year I picked two different origami stars to make, my main focus being on traditionality. These are both stars for which you can find loads of tutorials online, and they have been round for ages, so you can go ahead and make some, too, and not feel like you're stealing someone's design. Since there are always those people who can't make these themselves, or those who say "I could do that" and then don't do it, I thought I might make some extras for sale. Besides, these arrive nicely wrapped, ready for gifting without any fuss. If you don't feel like making stars but want some, this is where to find them: paperiaarre stars at Etsy.

Yay for me being all organized this week. I also made a little info kit for my shop it includes the story of Paperiaarre and, when appropriate, little leaflets about my matchboxes and Coptic bound books. While tweaking things over at Etsy, I also listed what I have left of last year's Letters to You; you can find all available art matchboxes here.

This is probably a good time to let you know there won't be a matchbox advent calendar here this year. As much as I'd like to keep the tradition going, I need to move on to larger things, and larger things take more time. I hope you won't mind too much.
