Rome II
Average people hardly take as much photos of floors as I do. I don't know if I've returned from any trip without at least a few photos of what's beneath my feet. The above photos are from the Borgia apartment in the Vatican Museums. As I stepped in I instantly thought of my mother and her quilting hobby.
Here at home I'm trying to declutter as much as I can (and cleaning whatever surfaces I unearth) in the hopes of decluttering my brain. I spend my days at home and it's pretty impossible to relax and focus when there's too many interesting or annoying things around me all the time, so at least I can try to get rid of the annoyances (like the nagging voice inside my head reminding me of windows that probably haven't been washed in at least a year or more, and the little daylight we've got this time of the year is far from bright even without the dirt on the windows). So yeah, I washed my windows in November, without freezing the water on the windows or myself. I'm pretty proud of myself now, but it's not like the chores end there. Time management is not one of my strengths and my brain seems to be wired in a way that makes it extremely difficult to start anything (queen of procrastination here) and stopping isn't much easier. So now that I'm in the mood for massive clean up spree, that's what you get - a crazy woman with squeegees and rags and five sorts of sponges. I have to say, I'd rather be a bit messy than like this all the time. Not that I like to have sediment on top of my floors.
